Passports:

Italy requires passports to be valid at least 3 months beyond your planned date of departure. So please double check yours! If you need to renew, you can do so at this link. In our experience, it can take 3-6 months to renew, so please plan accordingly.

Accommodations:

At Dievole, we’ve reserved the entire property (31 rooms) for 3 nights. Check-in will be on Monday, June 3rd at 4:00 PM and check-out Thursday, June 6th at 11:00 AM. Information about your room reservation is in your inbox!

Please do not contact Dievole for reservations. We have worked with the hotel to allocate their gorgeous rooms for you. Rooms range from €279-€529 a night. Breakfast and dinner for all 3 days will be covered. There is an on-site restaurant for lunches, in addition to great lunch options in the nearby city of Siena.

Getting to Dievole:

We cannot tell you how much we appreciate you making the effort to fly out to Italy to celebrate our love. To make this as easy as possible, we’ve laid out some recommended travel itineraries. There are 4 airports in the vicinity:

  • Florence (FLR):

    • By car: 1 hour 15 minute drive to the hotels

    • By train: 1 hour 30 minute train ride to Siena then 30 minute cab ride to the hotels

  • Pisa (PSA):

    • By car: 1 hour 45 minute drive to the hotels

    • By train: 2-3 hour train to Siena then 30 minute cab ride to the hotels

  • Rome (FCO):

    • By car: 3 hour 7 minutes to the hotels

    • By train: 4 hour train ride to Siena then 30 minute cab ride to the hotels

  • Milan (MXP):

    • By car: 3 hour 30 minutes to the hotels

    • By train: 4 hour train ride to Siena then 30 minute cab ride to the hotels.

If you are traveling beforehand, great! The easiest way to get to Dievole is through Florence. You can rent a car or take the train from there. Check-in will be Monday June 3rd at 4:00 PM and our Welcome Party begins at 7:30 PM, but feel free to arrive early and explore Tuscany/Siena.

We hope you are able to use this as an opportunity to explore this beautiful region & country a few days before or after our wedding!

Transportation:

The best way to explore Tuscany is by renting a car. And if you plan on doing so, there’s free parking at Dievole. If you’re traveling with friends, consider carpooling in and out of Tuscany from Florence! And yes, Italians drive on the same side of the road as us.

If you’re driving to Dievole from Florence, there is a scenic route and a highway route. We tried both. While the scenic route is stunning, it’s very off-road. The highway route will still give you incredible views, just with less windy, dirt roads. Plus it’s faster.

If you need automatic transmission, make sure to book in advance, as these are the first to sell out.

An international driver’s license is technically required. You can purchase one through AAA for $20 at this link.
